VII Technical Conference on the Promotion and Improvement of the cultivation of carob tree
On May 9, the seventh edition of the technical conferences for the promotion and improvement of the cultivation of carob tree took place in Palma, organized by the Innovative Companies of La Garrofa (EIG) and the Ministry of Environment, Agriculture and Fisheries of the Balearic Government .
The event served to highlight the importance of ensuring the conservation and hygiene of this fruit, as well as the properties of locust bean gum, a derivative of the carob bean.
CAROB is one of EIG’s partner companies. At the conference Julia San Segundo, head of the quality department, explained the manufacturing process and the applications of locust bean gum in food, cosmetics and textiles.
